Even the best built guitars can't sound good without good quality electronics. Pickups are a critical component and only high quality pickups will suffice. I do not wind my own pickups. My newer models are produced with a single volume and tone and a 3-way pickup switch. Also available: single humbucker configuration in either position.

One thing to remember when selecting pickups is: you get what you pay for. Great sounding pickups are vital to a great sounding electric guitar. My advice is: do a little research and ask around. I can tell you what I like, but that may not be what you like.
