Even the best built guitars can't sound good without good quality electronics. Pickups are a critical component and only high quality pickups will suffice. My newer models are produced with a single volume and tone and a 3-way toggle switch standard. What? You prefer single coils? No problem! You can have them any way you want them.
One thing to remember when selecting pickups is: you usually get what you pay for. Great sounding pickups are vital to a great sounding electric guitar. Unfortunately, most pickup manufacturers do not allow returns after you have tried them. So how do you know what is best? My advice is: do a little research and ask around. Most opinions are free.
